MI-Val

125 NS

Metalmeccanica Italiana Valtrompia, commonly referred to as MI-Val, had its origins as Minganti Valtrompia, a machine tools manufacturer founded by Ettore Minganti. This enterprise was established within the historic confines of the old Beretta arms factory situated in Gardone Val Trompia, in the province of Brescia. MI-Val’s primary focus was on the production of lightweight motorcycles, and it embarked on this journey from its unique industrial beginnings. During the 1950s, MI-Val gained immense popularity, particularly in central and northern Italy. These motorcycles were not only affordable but also known for their ease of maintenance. They boasted a diverse range of designs, catering to various age groups and tastes, and were renowned for their economic upkeep and robustness, making them well-suited for the challenging Italian road conditions. One of MI-Val’s notable offerings was the 125 NS, featuring an air-cooled, two-stroke 125cc single-cylinder engine, which delivered impressive power and performance for its time.

The charm of the 125 NS extended beyond its practicality, as it also boasted a captivating design that drew inspiration from the classic German motorcycles by DKW, a renowned brand known for its engineering innovations and racing success. The Italian designers at MI-Val embraced DKW’s design philosophy, incorporating elements that reflected the functionality and character of German engineering, evident in the streamlined contours and clean lines. This seamless blending of Italian craftsmanship with German design principles created a harmonious marriage of aesthetics and functionality, making the motorcycle stand out from its contemporaries.

Imported by Moto Forzamacchi in 2018 from its original owner in Italy, this exceptional specimen has been meticulously maintained, showcasing its original, untouched state. Noteworthy for its outstanding reliability, it effortlessly serves as a daily city errand runner, a testament to its enduring performance and charm.
